I love tumblr, but after looking at a lot of the things I have written, with credits removed from those reblogs, it just makes me feel protective about what I write more. It’s driving me crazy, the lack of crediting. Sometimes I post captions in photos, and even then my name gets removed from the caption. Is this something a lot of people like to do? The feeling is akin to having your identity stolen, even in a small way. An example: if you are on a profile website like Myspace, or Facebook, or Friendster or Multiply, and you find someone using their photo and claiming that the photo is them.
It feels like losing your identity. It feels like you are being disregarded and thrown aside.
I’m going back to livejournal for a while, I’m too afraid and tired and confused of this practice. I love what I write, and despite my partial disagreement with the saying that what you write are almost like your own children, I must admit the feeling rings kind of true here. Like someone is taking your child behind your back and saying that that is their child, not yours.
I should take a break from writing on this tumblr.
